Level 3 - F/X MAKEUP

The Special Effects program at London Eyes prepares students for theatrical work, TV programs and movie production - requiring special effects skills.

Course Objective: The objective of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and ability to effectively produce high quality special makeup effects. As the demands of special effects artists evolve due to the transition to high definition imaging, special makeup effects will be scrutinized more heavily than ever before. Students in this class will learn the discipline of special makeup effects with utmost believability always in mind for the end result. Students will use the art of makeup to effectively situate characters within the plot as a tool to propel the story forward. An understanding of effective directing, editing, and continuity must also be taken into consideration for the success of any effect. Students will also become familiar with the history of special makeup effects, as well as current trends in the industry.
